API Product Specialist

Salary: £30-£35K depending on experience

We are working on behalf of a company recruiting for a API Product specialist -

To work in collaboration with the Development & Technical Manager to:

Position the brand as a customer-centric organisation and a true technology partner to the Travel industry and to strengthen awareness of, products, services and company values through excellence in product/solution development, management and rollout/migration

Identify and prioritise new products/solutions to 3rd party developer’s in line with the local ACO’s API/Web Services strategy.

Ensure in-depth functional product/solution knowledge within UK/Ireland

Liaise with the relevant third party developers to ensure solutions required are developed to customer and specifications

Work closely with the internal Product Managers to ensure we work within the agreed framework and constraints


Vacancy Details

Main responsibilities 

Analyze requirements based on customers’ systems, data, functional and technical specificities for implementations or integrations of products and services.

Establish, track and follow-up customers’ implementations plans with customers and stakeholders.

Perform sign-off of functional mapping / specifications

Perform integration testing with customer or 3rd Party providers

Perform validation / sign-off / certification prior to the implementations in production

Follow-up on training and walkthroughs/demos attended for internal support


Pre- and Post-Sales support

Provide pre-sales documentation related to implementation processes/customer guidelines

Provide functional expertise and problem resolution/escalation prior, during and after implementation

Drive the resolution of implementations related problems (IR/PTRs)

Contribute to customer presentations and RFP responses

Provide escalation support to internally developed solutions using company Web Services/API


Provide customer-side functional or integration expertise beyond baseline offering

Recommend development best practises implementing our services/products 

Process Improvement

Identify improvement opportunities for implementations processes

Contribute to the optimisation of recurrent customer implementations

Develop or identify development needs for internal tools/ techniques for KPI measurement and further process automation.

Experience Required

Professional Pre-requisites


Minimum 3 years' experience in business analysis or product support in travel-related industry or equivalent.

2 Years of directly supporting a development framework

Excellent project management and planning skills

Excellent group presentation and training skills

Excellent written English with the capability to explain complex set-ups or product information with the correct level of language aimed at target audience.

Ability to analyse financial and statistical information

Ability to manage third party developers and to converse at their level of technical understanding.

Strong XML skills.

Highly proficient using software applications expected in a Windows enterprise environment.

Technically adept in a typical Windows environment.

Ability to demonstrate creative thinking

Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure

Team player with the ability to work independently

Excellent customer service skills  


Marketing or product management experience

Broad knowledge of programming languages (C#, VB, Java, Ruby, Groovy etc) along with Development IDE's (Visual Studio, Eclipse, IntelliJ etc)

Experience in Web Frameworks and technologies  (ASP.Net, Grails, Java, Rails, IIS, Apache etc)

Exposure to Operating systems other than Windows.

CIM qualification (or in the process of obtaining it)

Second spoken and written language (preferably European)
